Year of Languages Video Challenge Winners
The Year of Languages Video Challenge winners and honorable mentions were selected by an interdisciplinary faculty committee from dozens of submissions in more than fifteen languages. The videos are the work of students who are from diverse linguistic, cultural and academic backgrounds, and majoring in different fields at Rutgers. Students were invited to answer the questions, "How does learning another language contribute to your ways of thinking, your worldview, your attitude toward others, your career growth, or your self-awareness? What does learning another language mean to you?" Videos up to 30 seconds and videos between 30 seconds and two minutes were submitted in English and in one or more other languages. The videos eloquently and creatively express a keen understanding of the role that language education and language engagement play in our individual lives and in our communities.
